As the semester comes to an end, make sure to prioritize your mental health. Check out a few upcoming events below.
Carolina Mental Health Seminar: Understanding Emotions and How to Talk About Them
Wednesday 11/16 noon – 1:30 pm, Zoom
Emotions are necessary for problem-solving, motivation, and goal-directed behavior, and help us relate to other people. Identifying, exploring, and discussing emotions – how they make us feel, think, and behave – can help us gain perspective, increase a sense of control, and minimize the impact of stress. Join this session to better understand your feelings and learn strategies to explore and communicate about them. Facilitated by Rachel Rifkin, LCSW, Clinical Instructor in UNC Department of Psychiatry.
Thursday 11/17 5:30 – 7 pm, Union 3411
Come join the Undergraduate Executive Branch for an open discussion on mental health culture and resources on campus. We will be hosting a panel with administration, faculty, and student leaders on campus who work with mental health resources, including representatives from CAPS, Heels Care Network, professors, and Student Government. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the resources on campus. We will also be providing a safe space for students, faculty, and staff to raise concerns and share feedback about mental health services on campus. See you there!
