Global Grads: Communicating with Employers, Part 1: The Interview

Global Grads workshops focus on support for international graduate and professional students.
This two-part session will allow you to gain knowledge and practice communicating with colleagues and employers for your job search.
Part 1 will focus on the INTERVIEW
- Types of interviews (phone, in-person, Skype) and how to prepare
- What are employers really asking
- Cultural expectations
- How to use the STAR method to frame answers
Lunch will be served. Registration is required.

Part 2 will focus on NETWORKING as a technique for meeting employers and conducting your job search.

- Basic information on how to identify and build your network
- Culturally appropriate strategies for network interactions

CGSF – 6th Annual First-Generation Student Symposium – Zoom

Join the Boston University Newbury Center, Duke University First-Generation Graduate Student Network, and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Carolina Grad Student F1RSTS, along with our new Cooperating Sponsor, the Center for First-generation Student Success, for our 6th annual symposium for graduate and professional students on February 24, 2023, via Zoom. This national symposium is open to any student who identifies as a current first-generation graduate or professional student and is studying any discipline. Register here.

Global Grads – World Café

World Café brings Global Grads together to try new eateries from around the world, discuss interesting topics, and build community. Join us at the Graduate Student Center on the last Tuesday of the month from 12 pm – 1:30 pm to meet new friends, and reconnect with old friends while enjoying a new cuisine.
