GPSG Senate

GPSG Spring Senate Elections will be held on March 18th! If you’re curious about what being a senator entails, how it benefits your department, or how to become a senator, you can read more information here, or click here for more information about the election process.

If you’re interested in running, we’d love to have you on board! You can register as a candidate on HeelLife here any time between now and March 8th.

GPSG Senate is a unique opportunity to represent your unit and make your voice heard. We are a diverse group of Graduate and Professional students who are passionate and friendly. Join senate if you have ideas and want to motivate change at the university.

Senators will be required to attend a monthly meeting on the first Tuesday of each month. The final meeting of the Spring semester will be on April 2nd. Senators will also attend one training session in September. For more information about being a senator, feel free to email Senior Vice President Katie Heath or Vice President for Communications Luke Conners.

Fall Senate elections will be held in August for those units who do not elect senators in the Spring.

External Appointments

Graduate and professional students have representation on more than 100 committees and task forces around campus, including the Student Advisory Committee to the Chancellor, the Tuition and Fees Advisory Task Force, and advisory boards for everything from Campus Recreation to the BeAM Makerspaces. GPSG oversees the appointment of students to these committees, and we have dozens of spots left to fill. If you have questions, please contact Chief of Staff Abhigna Rao
